F.A.Q.'s?

What time do you show up?
We usually get to the event 1.5 hours before our scheduled start time. Depending on how big of a set up we have, we might arrive 2.5 hours ahead of time.

Do we pay for set up time?
No, you only pay for the time that we start the music, until the music ends.

What do you need as far as setup goes?
Please provide us with an area 6-12 foot wide and 4 feet off the wall to allow us enough room to comfortably set up. If your engagement is outside, please keep in mind our equipment can be hurt by over exposure to heat or other elements such as rain. Under a tent or other shelter is usually sufficient in these cases.

Do you take requests?
Profound Sound is always happy to take requests. We even make it a point to announce throughout the event that we are taking requests. Our new computer database system was bought specifically for this purpose. It helps us find those hard requests within a matter of seconds! So, yes we love requests. Our JOB is to play what your guests want to hear, but our SKILL is to fit it in the mix where it is appropriate.

What do you wear?
For the majority of our events we dress formally in Tuxedo attire. For more casual events, such as a summer company picnic, we may come with dress slacks and a golf shirt. Please talk with us about any other dress requirements for your event.

Can we bring our own CD's for you to play?
If we don't have it already, absolutely!

When should we call to reserve a date?
The sooner that you book us, the better. We never know when someone is going to take a date. Saturdays book up the quickest, especially in May and June. It is recommended that you book as far ahead as possible.

Why use a DJ?
There are a number of reasons why a DJ is the right choice for your event.

Unlike bands, who have a limited number of tunes that they can play, Profound Sound has over 20,000 songs at the touch of a finger. With this many songs we are sure to please all age ranges. We can even tell you within a matter of seconds if we have the song that you are looking for or not (refer to the question above involving requests). 

We will not only be your disc jockey, but will act as a Master Of Ceremonies for your event. For example with our specialty in wedding receptions this will include introducing all of the special moments including the Grand Entrance, First Dance, toasts, cake cutting, parent's dances, the garter & bouquet tosses, etc. . . . We will also coordinate along with your photographer/videographer to make sure that all of these events are captured for you.

Profound Sound does not understand the phrase "ladies & gentlemen, we are about to take a 15 minute break. Please be patient while we return". Unlike bands, we just do not need a break. Profound Sound keeps the music rolling NON-stop for our scheduled time. It is our nightmare to see people walk off the dance floor!
